The following is a copy of a Passengers List for the "Henry Clay" that arrived on 11 July 1821 into Portsmouth in the district of Norfolk carrying amongst others, the Steer family, including George Steer, the designer of the yacht "America", aged "3". It lists the family as "belonging to England" and "wishing to become inhabitants of the United States"
